Women's economic power in the US:

  • Women make approximately 80% of health care decisions for their families and are more likely to be the caregivers when a family member falls ill (United States Department of Labor )
  • 80% of all purchases are made or influenced by women  (CNN)
  • Almost 47% of U.S. workers are women (United States Department of Labor)
  • Nearly three-quarters (73%) of mothers with children younger than 18 were in the labor force in 2000 (United States Department of Labor)
